Solar Water Heating (SWH) Systems have very widespread usage and applications in both domestic and industrial sectors. A solar water heater is a natural way to heat water using solar thermal collectors. The collector is installed on a terrace or open space where it can get sunlight and water is stored in an insulated tank. The system uses sunlight throughout the day to heat the water and store it in the storage tank.

TYPES OF SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS
Primarily there are two types of solar water heaters that are available for our customers in the Indian market
FLAT PLATE COLLECTOR
It has an insulated metallic box having a copper plate covered with toughened glass. The flat plate is welded to copper vertical tubes where the water gets heated. It is circulated via horizontal copper pipes called headers and gets collected in the storage tank

FPC systems are long-lasting, as they are metallic
More expensive than ETC systems
They can work in colder regions with sub-zero temperature with an antifreeze enhanced solution
In places with salty water, a heat exchanger is required to avoid scale deposition
It works on partially cloudy days.
EVACUATED TUBE COLLECTOR
It has vertical glass tubes with a selective coating to absorb heat. Water in these glass tubes gets heated up due to the sunlight. Hot water being lighter rises up and gets collected in the storage tank from where it is available for use for various applications
